Arch for fence gate, cold frame for garden and more.
Arch notes:
- Cedar arch for the big fence, with form and function. The function being that it keeps the posts from sagging towards each other and preventing smooth operation.
- 2 layers of cedar 2x8’s, cut to length and angle using segmented ring calculator. The 2 layers are offset from each other, and glued and screwed together. Segments from the same layer are screwed together with pocket holes.
- Inlaid letters cut with the router and spray painted black for contrast. Sanded back the excess.
Cold frame notes:
- Cold frame to start seedlings for vegetable garden.
- Picked out some nice straight 2x10 boards and built it with more precision than I typically apply to outdoor projects. Hopefully that will make it last longer.
