Built a shop stool out of scrap walnut, cherry, and a spare steel l-bracket for supporting countertop overhangs.
Ended up looking so good I’m tempted to pull it out of the shop.
Notes:
- Based is assembled with countersunk cabinet screws, sunk into dowels so they pull against cross grain instead of end grain, and plugged / flush cut.
- Put a round over on all the edges of the base and top.
- Base / top and steel l-bracket connections with threaded insert and 1/4-20 machine screws.
- Steel l-bracket is painted with several coats of matte black spray paint.
- Finished with arm-r-seal.
